Odborně se pohybuje na průsečíku klinické výživy, kardiometabolické prevence, obezitologie a cévní medicíny — od fenotypizace tělesného složení po predikční modely.
Na LF MU vyučuje mediky i nutriční terapeuty a garantuje předmět Vnitřní lékařství pro nutriční terapeuty. S výukou nutričních terapeutů začal v roce 2009; od května 2019 působí jako odborný asistent. Je odborným garantem konference Současné terapeutické možnosti léčby obezity, která se koná 10. prosince 2026 již po páté.

Medicíně se věnuje od roku 1996, ve FNUSA od roku 2002 — nejprve na I. interní kardioangiologické klinice, od roku 2019 na klinice II. jako odborný asistent a vedoucí lékař JIP. Od roku 2024 vede nutriční ambulanci. V letech 2015–2020 vedl jako primář interní oddělení Nemocnice Milosrdných bratří. Atestoval z vnitřního lékařství (2010), doplnil certifikovaný kurz angiologie (2013) a titul MPH (2017); Ph.D. obhájil v roce 2023.
Na LF MU vyučuje mediky i nutriční terapeuty a je garantem předmětu Vnitřní lékařství pro nutriční terapeuty. S výukou nutričních terapeutů začal v roce 2009, původně externě. Od května 2019 zde působí jako odborný asistent.
Jeho výzkumné zaměření pokrývá fenotypizaci tělesného složení a jeho vztah ke krevnímu tlaku a metabolickému riziku, lipidologii, farmakoterapii obezity a metodiku klinických studií. Aktuálně pracuje na predikčních modelech inzulinové rezistence — strojové učení nasazené tak, aby výsledek zůstal interpretovatelný a reportovaný podle standardu TRIPOD+AI. Databáze Scopus k 30. 7. 2026 evidovala 33 dokumentů, 4 700 citací a h-index 15.
Podílel se jako člen týmu na řadě národních projektů včetně budování Mezinárodního centra klinického výzkumu FNUSA-ICRC a pilotní studie Kardiovize. Je členem šesti odborných společností a odborným garantem konference Současné terapeutické možnosti léčby obezity (5. ročník, 10. prosince 2026, FNUSA Brno).
